Humorous, Greeting Card, Punctuation

This was one of the projects i completed while on placement with Tigerprint who are part of Hallmark Cards. They produce all of the cards for Marks and Spencer and they were looking to refresh they're range of humorous cards. The four cards i produced carried on from my "Full Stop" project by utilising punctuation. I worked in different copy for each of the cards along with the punctuation in order to create a bit of humour. The cards were all printed on Metallic stock and were spot varnished in different areas to make them look like they were suitable to give as a birthday card. I then branded this range and called it the "Pun ctuation" range by highlighting the existing word 'Pun'.

Stamp Design, Print

This was a project set by the RSA to celebrate the idea of British Firsts on a set of Postage Stamps. I chose to look at the British Food which also had place names within them. For example: Beef Wellington, Bakewell Tart etc. Each recipe used words that also meant something else and so i mixed these together to create intrigue and an added element of fun.

Postcard Set
I produced one set of postcards celebrating the British Firsts. The name of the recipe appeared on the back of the postcard which would solve the mystery of the two rather obscure images on the front. There would also be an accompanying stamp to explain what the postcards are celebrating.

Stamp Books
I also produced a set of stamp books which held six of each picture used to represent the recipe. For example: 6 bull's heads and 6 wellington boots. These two stamps together would make up a first class stamp. The right combination had to be used on each letter and meant that it would create intrigue and provide a bit of humour for the receiver of the letter or package with the stamps on.

This project was set by the Graphics team at the Topman Head Office. The brief was to create the Visual Merchandise for the new Chicago store, due to open very soon.

My approach was to go for a look and feel that stood out against the others stores in Chicago but also fitted in to the trends of the area. Chicago is a city that has it's on unique style of independent, vintage shops and everyone has a real do-it-yourself approach to fashion.

I took this literally and used to the DIY theme throught all of the visual merchandising. Below you can see the two teaser posters i created that would let everyone know Topman was about to arrive. I also produced flyers that turned into posters and I produced a mood book. Like a look book it gave a feel and a vibe of how the store would look.

This was a self initiated project, in which i set out to create a new, all healthy, energy drink.

This drink is the big I am. It's aim is to motivate and encourage you to work hard at the gym and to lead a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

Each can has zero caffeine or taurine. It is full of natural energy boosting herbs and vitamins and each flavour; either Cranberry or Blueberry. Is packed with antioxidants which are great for wellbeing. The design of the cans looks bright, fresh and honest with the list of ingredients in large type for all to see. I AM has nothing to hide, it's an honest energy drink.

The branding for the drink was then applied across a number of platforms. From promotional posters, to multipacks to the office stationary for the company.

This project is my response to the ISTD brief 'Mutton Quad'. The brief was to create the branding for a typographically themed restaurant.

I chose to use punctuation as the basis for the theme and named the cafe/bistro 'Full Stop'. I applied punctuation to every aspect of the brand; from the posters to business cards and even using it as part of the way finding.

This set of four posters were designed for a fictitious Studio Ghibli Season, at the Cornerhouse in Manchester. Over a four week period four different films would be shown and each poster would go up the week of the showing.

With these posters i wanted to advertise to an older audience than the DVD covers of the films currently do. The stories can be enjoyed by both adults and children because the stories appeal on both levels and can tackle interesting issues or explore spiritual stories.

Each element used on the posters are not central to the storyline but are often characters or objects that feature in the films a lot and would be recognisable to existing fans of Studio Ghibli
